Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: Fresh Nightfall, Challenges, and Rewards
Updated on May 30, 2023: A new week has arrived in Destiny 2, signaling the reset of missions, challenges, and rewards. Week 2 of the Season of the Deep is now underway, as players continue their exploration of the newly introduced Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. As players fine-tune their load-outs for optimal performance, a resourceful Destiny 2 player has discovered a useful trick to avoid damage while activating the Deepsight nodes.
In addition to the Season 21 launch, Bungie has provided a glimpse into the game’s long-term future through a short trailer for The Final Shape. Although Bungie plans to reveal more details in August, the teaser trailer surprised everyone by revealing the return of the former Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6. The internet has been abuzz with theories and speculation since then, but Brandon O’Neill, the voice actor for Crow, has hinted at an even bigger confrontation to come with the expansion.
Meanwhile, the latest Destiny 2 reset has arrived, bringing with it all the updated weekly challenges, content, and rewards to pursue. Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers Nightfall Strike: The Corrupted
Hero Modifiers:
- Champions: Unstoppable and Overload
- Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields with Arc, Solar, and Void attributes
- Denial: Taken Vandals summon their shields more frequently
- Galvanized: Combatants have increased health and are harder to stun
- Overcharge: Rocket Launchers and Kinetic Weapons deal bonus damage when the player’s subclass matches the active Surge element

Season of the Deep Activities Season of the Deep is now live, bringing a plethora of fresh content to the table, including the return of the Titan destination. Season 21 offers 10 weeks of challenges to tackle, along with new activities to participate in. Bungie has unveiled a weekly mission called Deep Dive, taking players into the methane ocean to uncover the origin of the Witness. Additionally, the matchmade seasonal activity known as Salvage requires players to retrieve Golden Age technology from sunken Arcology structures. As if that weren’t enough, players can now experience fishing for the first time in the franchise’s history.
Season 21 introduces a new Dungeon called Ghosts of the Deep, which reintroduces Hive Lightbearer enemies and includes voice lines from the Hive God of War, Xivu Arath. Completing the full triumph checklist and claiming the seal grants players the title “Aquanaut.”
Neomuna Activities The Weekly Mission features a rotating activity from the campaign, offering a Pinnacle reward for achieving a team score of 100,000 points or higher. The Vex Incursion Zone rotates each week, allowing players to earn a Terminal Overload Key and exotic gear.
Incursion Zone: Zephyr Concourse Partition missions reset each week, offering players the opportunity to dive into VexNet and pursue major targets.
Partition: Backdoor Raid and Dungeon Rotation To provide updated rewards and make them farmable, Bungie has moved older Raids and Dungeons to a weekly rotation, starting from Season 17.

Altars of Reflection: This weekly activity can be undertaken by locating specifically marked icons within the Throne World. These missions typically involve light puzzle-solving and battling enemy combatants.

Season of the Deep Weekly Challenges Season 21 presents new challenges for players to tackle over the course of 10 weeks. As players have experienced in previous seasons, objectives range from completing seasonal story content to achieving a certain number of kills and completing various activities. Rewards for these objectives include engrams, Bright Dust, seasonal gear, and occasionally, items or resources.
Week 2 Challenges:
- Into the Depths II – Complete Week 2 “Into the Depths” Mission.
- Front Line Salvager II – Open 3 chests in Salvage. Redeeming Salvage Keys provides additional progress. Defeat Taken enemies anywhere in the system.
- Powerful Salvager – Defeat 50 powerful combatants in Salvage activities.
- Antithetical Armaments – Defeat 150 targets with Sniper Rifles or Shotguns. Defeating Guardians or combatants in Salvage or Deep Dive activities grants additional progress.
- Throne World Activities – Earn progress in the Throne World by completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
- Lost in the Legend – Complete a Lost Sector on Legend or higher difficulty.
- Flourish of Power – Defeat Guardians in the Mayhem Playlist.
- Primeval Entourage – Defeat Taken in Gambit. Bonus progress for defeating tougher enemies.
- Taken Decimator – Defeat Taken combatants in Vanguard playlists or strikes. Bonus progress for defeating tougher combatants.
- Calibrate Long Range – Calibrate long-range weapons such as Pulse Rifles, Bows, and Trace Rifles. Bonus progress for defeating Guardians.
Crucible and Gambit Playing three matches will grant players a Pinnacle drop:

Legacy Content The Trove Guardian can be found in Archer’s Line, while the wandering nightmare, Fallen Council, can also be encountered there.

Trials of Osiris Map and Weekly Adept Weapon Trials of Osiris has undergone changes to make it more accessible and rewarding. The win requirements tied to specific rewards have been removed, and Saint-14 now has a reputation system that rewards players for ranking up through playing and completing bounties.
