Twitch Imposes Another Ban on LowTierGod
On June 5, Dalauan Sparrow, the popular content creator known as LowTierGod, faced yet another ban from Twitch. This recent suspension adds to the growing list of notable bans on the platform in 2023.
LowTierGod gained fame for his confrontational personality within the fighting game community. Over the past six months, he has encountered significant turbulence. After his YouTube channel was permanently banned in late 2022, the controversial streamer made a return to Twitch, having previously left the platform for YouTube due to another ban. However, it didn’t take long for Twitch to ban LowTierGod once again upon his return. Although the initial account suspension lasted only a week and ended on May 5, a month later, he was hit with yet another ban from Twitch. This latest ban, according to StreamerBans, lasted for a mere seven hours. As Twitch refrains from providing specific details on individual account sanctions, fans of LowTierGod can only hope that he will share the reasoning behind the ban, which he has yet to do at the time of writing.

However, one of LowTierGod’s viewers has put forth a plausible theory regarding the recent ban. The theory suggests that the ban was a result of a movie scene with nudity that was shown during one of LowTierGod’s recent streams. Twitch’s Community Guidelines explicitly prohibit the streaming of content that includes real and partially censored nudity. This theory would explain the short duration of the ban, as more severe offenses such as hate speech generally lead to lengthier Twitch bans.
Despite the ban, LowTierGod’s fan base on Twitch remains intact, with his LowTierGod channel boasting nearly 180,000 followers. Additionally, since early 2023, the controversial streamer has been exploring the platform Kick, although his following there is more than ten times smaller.
Given that Twitch appears to be LowTierGod’s primary source of steady income, it is likely that he will strive to maintain good behavior moving forward. However, his history suggests that this may prove challenging, particularly because many of his followers expect him to exhibit constant rage on-screen, within the limits set by Twitch. LowTierGod’s streaming career has also been marred by other controversies, such as being banned from Capcom’s Street Fighter 5 due to a transphobic outburst, indicating that his streaming efforts may face further interruptions in the future.
