Apex Legends is hosting a limited-time event in collaboration with Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
Running from January 9 to January 30, 2024.
Event Highlights:
- Final Fantasy VII Takeover Mode: This mode temporarily replaces the unranked Battle Royale, introducing Materia-inspired Hop-Ups that grant unique abilities when equipped to specific weapons:
- Blue Materia (HP Absorb): Restores health as players deal damage.
- Green Materia (Lightning): Emits a shock nova upon reloading an empty weapon, damaging and slowing nearby opponents.
- Purple Materia (Crit Rate Up): Increases the chance of inflicting critical damage.
- Red Materia (Summon): Summons a Nessie companion to attack enemies.
- Yellow Materia (Assess): Reveals the remaining health of damaged opponents.
- Buster Sword R2R5: Players can wield Cloud Strife’s iconic Buster Sword R2R5, enabling attacks and blocks that fill a Limit Break Gauge, unleashing powerful abilities once charged.
- Gil Currency and Reward Store: Complete daily challenges to earn up to 1,800 Gil per day, which can be exchanged in the Gil Reward Store for event-exclusive items like badges, weapon skins, and more. The store’s inventory updates weekly, so timely redemption is encouraged.
- Event Cosmetics: Collect 36 limited-time cosmetics inspired by Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, including:
- Legendary Skins: Transform Legends into characters like Cloud (Crypto), Tifa (Wraith), Aerith (Horizon), and a Moogle (Wattson).
- Mythic Buster Sword R5: A universal melee cosmetic available through Event Packs, distinct from the in-mode Buster Sword R2R5.
- One-Winged Angel Death Box: Unlock this exclusive item by collecting all event cosmetics, usable by any Legend.
This collaboration offers a unique blend of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth elements within the Apex Legends universe, providing fans with new gameplay experiences and cosmetic items.
