Bloodborne Remaster: Insights from Former PlayStation Executive
The gaming community has long awaited a remaster or PC port of Bloodborne, yet such a project remains unrealized. Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida recently shared his perspective on this topic during an appearance on the Kinda Funny Gamescast.
Miyazaki’s Deep Connection to Bloodborne
Yoshida highlighted that Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Bloodborne, holds the game in high regard. He suggested that Miyazaki’s profound attachment to the project might make him hesitant to delegate a remaster to another studio. Yoshida stated, “Miyazaki-san really, really loved Bloodborne, what he created. So I think he is interested but he’s so successful and so busy, so he cannot do it himself. But he doesn’t want anyone else to touch it.”
Shuhei Yoshida talks about Bloodborne and why he thinks Sony hasn’t done anything with it yet:

FromSoftware’s Stance on a PC Port
Despite the absence of a remaster, FromSoftware has expressed openness to a PC port of Bloodborne. Miyazaki himself mentioned he isn’t opposed to the idea but added, “If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well.”
Community Speculation and Hopes
The lack of official announcements hasn’t deterred fans from speculating about potential remasters or ports. Some believe that Sony might be reserving a Bloodborne remaster as a launch title for future consoles, similar to the approach taken with Demon’s Souls.
While the desire for a Bloodborne remaster or PC port remains strong within the gaming community, insights from industry figures like Shuhei Yoshida suggest that the project’s realization may be influenced by the personal sentiments and busy schedule of its original director, Hidetaka Miyazaki. As of now, fans continue to await any official developments regarding the beloved title.
